I build things for businesses — websites, software, and increasingly, the strategies behind them.
The short version
I'm the founder of McNair Media, a web design and development studio based in Arlington, Ohio. For more than fifteen years I've designed and built custom websites and business applications — client portals, CRMs, quoting systems, booking engines — for companies across Ohio, Tennessee, Georgia, and New Jersey. When off-the-shelf tools kept failing my clients, I built mmCMS, the content management platform that now powers our whole client fleet.
Why consulting
After enough years of building software for small businesses, you notice something: the technology is rarely the hard part. The hard part is the decisions around it — what to buy versus build, which processes deserve automation, where the next dollar of investment actually pays back. I kept getting pulled into those conversations, and I loved them.
So I'm making it official. I'm pursuing an MBA at the University of Cincinnati to pair two decades of hands-on operating experience with formal business training — and offering consulting services for business owners who want advice from someone who has actually built and run the systems being discussed.
The other stuff
I write essays about business, technology, and whatever else earns the keystrokes. I've published two books — a retail strategy guide and a children's picture book — with more on the way. You can find both on the books page.
If any of this sounds like someone you'd want in your corner, get in touch. I answer my own email.
