So I wrote a children's book...
In 2024, I got around to getting published "It's Cold Outside Mr. Beaver", a children's book about hard work and showing other's kindness.
Starting back in 2023, I decided to start actively working on writing at least one book per year. I had several rough drafts that were almost done and one of the first ones I had was a children's book that I had written for my child. I read it to them several nights when they had trouble sleeping, especially when it was cold outside. In 2024, I finally got around to getting it published and giving it to our kids for a Christmas present. I think it is fitting to finally share this with others as well. It's called "It's Cold Outside Mr. Beaver" and it's a nice book with a good message about the importance of hard work and showing kindness towards others. I wrote the story originally in 2019 and started the artwork at that point. I spent the better part of 2024 finalizing the art to complete the book. It's digitally drawn but with a pencil-like art style to it, something that has a timeless look to it.
Below is the full book description:
Mr. Beaver, a kind and helpful resident of Bear Lake, diligently prepares for winter while other animals, like Squirrel, rush to gather resources at the last minute. When winter arrives, the unprepared animals find themselves cold and hungry. Mr. Beaver invites them into his cozy home, which is surprisingly spacious and well-stocked with food. Squirrel, who had misjudged Mr. Beaver's actions as lazy, apologizes and learns a valuable lesson about judging others. The story emphasizes the importance of hard work, preparation, and kindness, reminding us not to make assumptions about others based on their outward appearance or actions.
Being that we are all experiencing an especially cold winter, it may be a fun book for your family to sit around and read together! I hope you all enjoy it!
